Based in the heart of Northern Ireland, Ian S McWhirter was established in 1982 by Ian himself who started out as a farmer. Ian has over 30 year’s experience of mixing his own meal for his cattle and soon began selling his product to other farmers all over Northern Ireland.
As the company grew we where one of the first agricultural merchants in 1996 to sell Barenburg Grass Seed in Northern Ireland and now sell all over Ireland. In 2000 we started to sell Bread, Breakfast Cereal and Biscuit to farms and other merchants. Since then, the business has grown significantly as one of Ireland’s largest agricultural merchants. We are now UFAS (Universal Feed Assurance Scheme) Approved and received our merchants registration in 2003 so you can rest assured that all our products comply with farm quality assurance regulations.
We have a long standing and simple philosophy when it comes to feeding ruminants which is as strong now as it was almost 3 decades ago. We believe that good quality raw materials, professionally produced, formulated and individually tailored to suit the unique requirements on your farm. We believe it holds the key to enabling your herd to reach and maintain optimum performance and profitability.
We provide a comprehensive and professional service with the emphasis on success and profitability for you the farmer. As a result we now trade with over 100 satisfied and happy customers in our main trading area of North & Southern Ireland, but we can and do trade throughout the UK.
